Membership Agreement and Waiver
Code of Conduct
The first stem to becoming one of the Boston Ironsides is to complete a Membership Agreement and Waiver form. This form, which is both an agreement outlining the basic conditions of membership and a general release of liability indemnifying the team, must be submitted every year. By signing this required document you agree to the terms outlined in the Member Code of Conduct, which may also be downloaded here.

Running a successful rugby team takes more than a lot of hard work and dedication; it's expensive. We need to employ a coaching staff, rent practice facilities, buy kit and equipment, hire referees, and pay for drinkups and socials for home matches, among other things
That's why we have to assess dues of $125 per season to each player. Dues are paid at the beginning of the Spring and Fall seasons, for a total of $250 per year.
You can always bring a check or cash to any of our practices, or you can pay online using a credit or debit card.
There is a $4 service fee to offset what PayPal charges us to process your online payment. If you don't want to pay this fee, bring a check or cash to practice.

If you need to pay in installments, first work out a payment plan with the V.P.—Finance, then use this button to pay a portion of your dues.
There is a $4 service fee to offset what PayPal charges us to process your online payment. The V.P. Finance will assess this charge with your final installment payment. If you don't want to pay this fee, bring a check or cash to practice.
A supporter of the Boston Ironsides Rugby Football Club (BIRFC) is considered an individual who regularly attends matches in support of the BIRFC and participates socially with the club at various team events. Supporters are responsible for abiding by both the BIRFC Bi-Laws and Member Code of Conduct.
By paying Supporter Dues ($60 USD) players are considered in “good standing*” and are eligible to participate in the following activities:
- Attend weekly matches and join the 3rd half drink up after the conclusion of each match.
- Participate and represent BIRFC at social and philanthropic events.
- Eligible to be nominated and run for an E-board position during the year in which they paid spring and/or fall dues respectively.
- Allows an individual to participate in the voting process for E-board positions and any other motions up for vote by the team.

USA Rugby Membership
USA Rugby, the governing body for all things rugby in the United States, requires all active team members to register with CIPP (Club and Individual Participation Program) in order to participate in organized rugby events. Dues are $80 per calendar year, which covers $45 for USA Rugby CIPP registration and $35 NERFU dues. You can either register on your own, or give us a check for $80 and we'll register you.
CIPP registration also includes basic medical insurance which covers you during tournaments, practices, matches, and while travelling to and from these officially sanctioned events.
To check your CIPP status or to register online, visit the USA Rugby Registration Site, type "Boston Ironsides" into the search box, and follow the posted instructions.
You MUST be CIPP-compliant in order to play with the Ironsides or any other rugby team.
